I know they can't make the world bigger, but maybe they could have done something like reduce movement rate/range: cut that by 50% and the world 'grows' in size. The only other choice that occurs to me is that they wouldn't have all of the LL's there at once, and instead just have a more traditional model where there is the 'empire' area, the 'tomb king' area, etc., and you just pick a faction and chose which LL you play, and the other LL from that faction are not present during that game.

Why are so many existing factions moved to the Southlands? My only guess is that they need more room in Lustria and other places for future content. At this point, LL's have to take the place of even generic AI factions so it is to be expected that there will simply be some that die all of the time unless they are in the players hands.Īnywhere that existing LL start positions are not, is IMO a target for future DLC. I'm sure there's a reason that similar games have so few factions on the map. It's neat to see them all there, but the world is simply too small for this many factions. I mean, personally I think there are too many lords anyway, and we haven't even added DLC yet. We knew ahead of the start position reveals that CA had only changed ~ 30% of the lords, so the majority of the starts will look just like ME in the second game. Empire and Naggarond regions are not done with start positions yet, so I don't think that they will be that barren when things are done.
